Holliger shines at Perry
Camp Perry, OH,  John Holliger from Ft Defiance won the Top Civilian Shooter award during NRA Week, 2002 and was 2nd overall in the service rifle class.  John also  finished 9th in the overall standings, which includes all competitors using match rifles and service rifles.

Hard to believe, but it's that time again.  Dues notices were mailed today, so be on the lookout for them.

Fort Defiance wins the 2002 Legion League Team title

Kankakee, Fort Defiance edged out the ISRA Gold team 7669-174X to 7634-175X  to win the 2002 Legion League title.

7. Courses of Fire
NOTE: The High Power Rifle Committee removed the requirement to start all rapid fire stages from the standing position. The words “from standing” are removed from all rapid fire stages in Section 7.

10.1.7 Rapid Fire Loading Procedure
After the announcement “YOUR SIGHTER PERIOD HAS ENDED” or “FOR YOUR SECOND STRING OF RAPID FIRE” has been made, and before the targets appear, the rifle must be kept out of the shoulder, and the ammunition must remain either on the ground or shooting stool. When the targets appear shooters will retrieve their ammunition, load either 2 or 5 rounds and commence fire. (Note: the rifle need not be in the shoulder before the bolt is closed.) After firing 2 or 5 rounds, competitors will reload 8 or 5 rounds as appropriate. Reloading before firing the 2nd or 5th round (hot reload) will result in the shooter receiving a total score of “0" for that entire 10 round string of fire.

Anderson held the current
record of winning three
Mountain Mans, with the
closest competitor holding
two.  The Mountain Man
trophy is aptly named since
it consists of the aggregate
of the President’s, NTI and
NTT Matches.  SFC
Anderson scored a
1283-38X to win

On his way to winning the
Mountain Man, Anderson
compiled an astounding
record of achievements at the 2010 National Matches:
Citizen Soldier Trophy (High Reserve in the NTI)
Pershing Trophy (High Individual NTT - Overall)
Rattlesnake Trophy (High Individual NTT - Army)
High Overall Service Rifle Aggregate
(President’s, TI, NTT and Hearst Doubles)
First USAR, Rattle Battle Team
