200 yd Offhand
The Fort Defiance Rifle & Pistol Club range is located just north of the town of Wyoming, Illinois, which itself is located at the intersection of state highways 17 and 91 in the west-central portion of the state.

During its formation in 1957, the club took its name from the remains of an old log fort near the area, which was originally built for protection along the Galena Trail during the Blackhawk War of 1832.

The club has both rifle and pistol facilities and in addition to providing a venue for informal shooting, offers shooters the opportunity to participate in sanctioned competitive events.

The Ft Defiance Rifle and Pistol club has been serving hunters and shooters in the northwest central Illinois area since 1957. With ranges for small bore rifle, pistol, and a 200 yard high power range the club has something for just about everyone. Several championship caliber shooters have called Ft Defiance their home range including national champion Barry Coleman and former AMU standout Norm Anderson.

Ft Defiance Rifle and Pistol has recently invested in Silver Mountain electronic targets which will be used for all our 2021 High power matches. We would like to invite everyone to come out to one of our matches and enjoy what we feel is one of the best little ranges around. Match dates are May 22, June 5, July 17, Sept 11, and Oct 9. Start time for all matches in 9:00 AM. Range Capacity is limited so please text John Holliger at 309-531-3099 to reserve a spot.

We look forward to seeing many new faces this season and who knows, if we get enough shooters we may even fire up the Ft Defiance Snack Shack and start serving the infamous Harddogs again.
